MEET THE WOMAN BEHIND YELLOW DIGITAL
YELLOW IS A ONE-WOMAN MARKETING AGENCY... ESSENTIALLY.
Yellow Digital is the name of the business ran by South West local, Lauren Dixon (me!). The Yellow Digital brand prides itself on being a unique blend of a creative and analytical mind. After working in Google Agencies from 2015 - 2020, I wore many hats - Designer, Account Manager, Copywriter, Content Creator, Photographer, Public Relations Manager, Events Manager, Social Media Manager and more.

All of these skills have culminated into what Yellow Digital is today - a one-person powerhouse of marketing, design and strategy.

In 2022, after being in business for only 11 months, Yellow Digital was named a Finalist in the Business South West '2022 South West Business Excellence Awards', under the category: Emerging Business, presented by Alcoa.
In 2023, my website for Enable WA was named a Finalist in the Australian Web Awards. Yellow Digital was the ONLY Sole Trader to make it into the Finals - all other entries were from Agencies. (I'm pretty proud of this one, in case you couldn't tell!).

I have been working in the Graphic Design and Marketing industry for over a decade, supporting myself through University via freelance design jobs for music promotors, local bands and start up companies, and many years understanding buyer psychology through retail work..

With a Bachelor's in Public Relations, Marketing and Advertising (and half a degree in Graphic Design), and four years of working in retail under my belt, I headed to Aoteroa (New Zealand) to see if my dream marketing agencies had any vacancies.
​
My story and journey to Yellow is LONG. But the important lessons I learned are carried into Yellow today. Not only the skills and experience amassed, but also the importance of staying true to yourself and your integrity.

That's why when you work with Yellow, you'll get to see the Marketing expert you're working with (me!) for who I really am. I've spent years in my career dressing up in suits, using acronyms and big words, and trying to impress people with terms they won't understand.
And it gets exhausting trying to be someone you're not.
I work with clients who respect my mind as well as my personality. There's no fake smiles and people pleasing here, and no industry jargon you won't understand, just real, straight facts and a very friendly woman who wants the best for your business, and can tell you how to get there.

If you've ever worked with a Marketing Agency, you'll know how fast paced, busy, and booked the environment is. After being in an Agency environment across New Zealand and Western Australia, I developed skills to make me very good at thinking on my feet, meeting a deadline, and hitting a brief. At one point, I was doing the job of four people and doing it pretty damn well.

But with all of that pressure to maintain my quality came immense burnout. A lot of skills, a lot of experience, and a lot of failures to learn from came from my Agency years.
​
When I created Yellow Digital, I made a rule for myself to only take on a few quality clients at a time, so they could get the absolute best of me, without any risk of burnout.
​
If we're working together, it means our values align, and I can see a great relationship forming. I'm not here for 'get it done, send it off' jobs. I want my clients to truly succeed.
